He grabbed them by the prejudices [1]

Apparently titles are a big thing, so I try to be creative, let me know if it works!
Y’all do realize that fighting the oligarchy is not the only (better bold this so it won’t be overlooked) fight we need to have right now right? The oligarchy is not what won chump the presidency no matter how much you’ve been told it was. Do not confuse the fact that some white supremacists are oligarchs with only rich people are the problem.
Money in politics is A (better bold that too) problem but far more insidious is the white supremacy agenda of turning the US into a white country. Never ever forget that it was grabbing them by the prejudices that won chump his presidency. And while removing money from politics will restore balance in our government it will not restore our civil rights and liberties, that will take removing the fascists.
I can hear the comments now about how money wins elections, I will refer you once more to the Musk fiasco in I think it was Wisconsin. People win elections. Voters win elections. Money can make ads. Even paying people off didn’t work as muskrat found out once the people are motivated. It is when you are indifferent to what’s going on that ads can influence you. (I do hope by now you’re paying attention as not to be swayed by money).
I hear a lot of Kosyans talking about how we need to win the culture wars, only problem is we’re not waging a culture war, we’re fighting for civil rights and liberties, it is not the same thing. Stop grabbing (here’s that word again) onto right wing words and sayings without realizing you’ve been pulled into a false narrative, just like a maga (there that should shake you up a bit). Here are some more talking points you’ve appropriate from the right “working class” “kitchen table issues” “elites” without knowing why they were spoon fed to you.
Don’t fly off the handle, we’ve all been fooled at one time or another, it’s not that these terms in themselves are bad, it’s how they’ve been used that’s bad. For example, every time they tell you about the working class, they just happen to be standing in front of white folks. Same with when they use the term kitchen table issues, it’s usually with a background of a white family. It is because they want to link these terms with white people in your mind and you fall for it (again nothing personal just how the human brain works).
How do I know you fell for it? Because you keep telling us that the Dems’ messaging was bad and didn’t reach working class people, even as the policies were about business loans, building houses, creating jobs, you heard the same things I did, I’m working class (borderline broke) so why didn’t it mean the same to you as to me? Because the background of white people was missing and it was a Black woman, that meant her message was for minorities and not working-class people (see how insidious that is?).
You repeat a lot, that Dems were focused on culture wars. That they talked too much about Trans folks issues. But they didn’t… the republicans did. Unless they were replying to a question, they really didn’t talk about LGBTQIA issues. Now they saw trans folks but they were speaking on civil rights issues not specifically trans folks issues, but alas, if a trans person is speaking it must be about trans folk issues, so you sort of tune out (stop that by the way, I’m really going to have to publish that piece about the demonization of Trans people one day)
Notice that the right moans about the Elites but Bernie says Oligarchy it’s because when they say “Elites” they mean rich minorities. Oligarchy is rich white people. (I’m telling you folks neural pathways are formed without us knowing it)
When I talk of imbedded racism/prejudices that’s the kind I refer to, you automatically jump to a notion without even thinking, because you’ve been programmed to do so (don’t get offended, we all have prejudices). It’s why we keep saying if a Black person tells you it’s racist, it’s racist, if a Gay person tells you it’s homophobic it is. We know because we are the ones that experience the fall out of what you deem “jokes” “not racist” “not homophobic” “not transphobic” etc… Do you know how long blonde women had to fight to overcome the perceptions created by blonde jokes? I think they’re still fighting against that particular prejudice.
So, please don’t fall for the “fight the oligarchy” like it’s the only thing that matters, it has a nice ring to it, but it is not the fight that needs to be won right now. Right now you should be fighting for the reestablishment of civil rights, liberties, free speech and to regain your power as a voting block all of us. That’s the “unity” we need.
