We're building a grassroots impeachment that will transcend the parties. Climb aboard! [1]

Mafia Don and his wrecking crew are intentionally destroying the United States, and they will succeed unless they are removed from power. This is already becoming clear to everyone who isn't deeply immersed in his cult. As the disruptions to our lives increase, a broad consensus will form at the grassroots, agreeing that America urgently needs to press the eject button.

Operation Anti-King (part of Citizens' Impeachment) is laying tracks for the criminal regime to be removed, for real. The organizers know that impeachment will mean nothing if it's merely a gesture of disapproval. It has to be a knock-out blow.

In other words, this isn't your grandparents' impeachment, or Nancy Pelosi's, or Newt Gingrich's. This one isn't coming from within the halls of an ineffectual Congress. This punch will be an angry upper-cut from below, from the grassroots, from the people in every congressional district who are experiencing the pain of the regime's malevolent attacks on our society.

Last week, volunteers contacted 405 members of Congress via their communications directors, and they asked the reps to go on the record with their support for impeachment and removal. According to the updated whip board, eight reps have already responded affirmatively. They will vote to impeach.

CA-16, Sam Liccardo

CA-43, Maxine Waters

GA-04, Hank Johnson, Jr.

MI-13, Shri Thanedar

MN-05, Ilhan Omar

OR-01, Suzanne Bonamici “I voted to impeach Donald Trump twice during his last presidency and would do so again. There is compelling evidence that he has committed more impeachable offenses during this administration, including violating the Constitutional rights of people in this country and ignoring the rule of law."

OR-03, Maxine Dexter "I will not stand by while our democracy is eroded. I support impeachment because no one is above the law, and Trump's past and present actions must be met with real consequences."

TX-09, Al Green "The movement to impeach the president has begun. I rise to announce that I will bring Articles of Impeachment against the president."

In the Starkville Daily News, for Rep. Michael Guest, MS-03

Volunteers in each of those eight districts are sending letters of praise to their local newspapers and publicizing the reps' favorable responses in other outlets too.

Meanwhile, in the districts where the reps haven't responded yet, volunteers are getting their letters published in newspapers. They're also taking advantage of the congressional recess between now and April 25 to attend town halls and tell their rep to come out in favor of impeachment.

In the Sunday News-Register, for Rep. Riley Moore, WV-02

Your help is needed for this part. Get involved by signing up. (Or just take the initiative and use these guidelines to write your own letter to the local paper, encouraging your rep to come out for impeachment.)

Here are some excellent letters to the editor that were published in recent days:

In the Lancaster Online, for Rep. Lloyd Smucker, PA-11

In the South Tahoe Now Reader, for Rep. Kevin Kiley, CA-03

To the quibblers:

If you're inclined to make an argument about why this regime need not be removed, or why we shouldn't try, I'll leave you with responses to objections that have already been voiced in others of my posts by various diviners of the conventional wisdom. Put a checkmark beside the one that best fits with your particular motive for inaction, and save room in the comments for constructive discussion about how we're actually going to make removal happen.

1. Impeachment would be a gift to Republicans.

Answer: Bullshit. The only way impeachment is going to work is if it draws from deeply felt pain that's experienced throughout all the congressional districts, including Republican ones. We already know the pain will come, and therefore so will the pressure by constituents to remove the source of the pain. This impeachment is going to be nonpartisan, and it will get support from every congressperson who doesn't want to be tagged as a member of the "Make America Hurt More" gang.

2. Impeachment would leave us with President Vance, which might be worse.

Answer: Correct. Unless we do a two-fer, impeachment and removal of just the one guy would leave us with Vance, who is spectacularly dangerous. Ever since Vance joined the ticket, I've been saying that Trump was merely Putin's delivery vehicle, while Vance and Musk are the payload. I'm not sanguine about Vance. Even so, in the event of impeachment and removal, Vance would be taking office in the wake of an historically immense assertion of the public's own power. Vance and all of Congress, and even the Supreme Court, will be cowed by that demonstration of power.

3. We just need to win Congress in 2026 and the presidency in 2028.

Answer: Are you not watching what's happening? This regime is dismantling core institutions that keep people alive. They won't balk at sabotaging the institutions that make elections work. And if you think they can't intervene in what's supposed to be a state and county function, you lack imagination. They're already rolling out a variety of tactics, all of which will combine to make federal elections meaningless going forward.

4. If impeachment and removal fails, it would weaken Democrats.

Answer: That's entirely wrong. The only way the effort can get as far as actual impeachment is if it has grassroots support from everywhere. That would mean it represents an extremely powerful, cross-party movement. The same movement can propel more Democrats and anti-Republicans into Congress (if you actually believe the 2026 and 2028 elections will be meaningful). I'd also note, in the world that's coming, there will be an entirely new way of measuring the political advantages of a position. Individual Dems had better get on board with that new alignment, or get primaried out.
