Russian stuff blowing up: Russian strike on Sumy city center kills 32 [1]
['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.']
Date: 2025-04-13
Russia launched an Iskander ballistic missile attack against downtown Sumy that has killed at least 32. The first missile hit a university building and the second detonated above the street level.
It’s Palm Sunday, or "The Feast of the Lord's Entry into Jerusalem" in Orthodox. Many of the victims were on a bus that was destroyed.
There is also a report that a Ukrainian general was conducting a medal ceremony in the vicinity at the time.
This video I won’t embed. It shows the devastation, but be warned because it is quite harsh and shows bodies lying in the street.
x 🤬 Russians struck SumDu congress center, where a children's performance was scheduled for 11:00. If the strike had arrived a little later, many children could have been among the victims...

2/ The mayor of Konotop in the Sumy Region of Ukraine is demanding the resignation of the head of the Sumy OVA by 6:00 p.m. today or he will reveal some information about today's tragedy in Sumy: "If you don't get on your knees and apologize to the people by 6:00 p.m., I will… 3/ …tell everyone what happened."I can tell you that NATO/US ROI's (Rules of Engagement) would not allow a two missile strike on a busy civilian street on a religious holiday so make no mistake about who is responsible here -- Russia! 4/ But, the forced-error was avoidable because we know Russia does not care about civilian (or any) lives.
x "The head of the Sumy OVA Artyukh organized today the awarding of the 117th brigade in the city center," — the mayor of Konotop "The military were not injured, because they were in shelters. Only civilians were injured/killed." 🤬 This does not justify the Russian!!! — MAKS 24 👀🇺🇦 (@maks23.bsky.social) April 13, 2025 at 11:49 AM
Payback would seem to be in order.

Another 1,220 Russians who made the wrong choice. Plus 12 tanks.
This is Dmitry Rogozin. He used to be the head of Roscosmos, the Russian space agency. More than 1,000 Roscosmos employees volunteered to join the war in Ukraine. More than 100 died and 342 were wounded.
When Rogozin was dismissed from that job, he too went to Ukraine to serve in the army. On his birthday he suffered an … umm … unfortunate wound.
x French Caesar howitzer got him in the butt when he was celebrating his birthday. There were rumors that his….”member” was heavily damaged. I don’t know if we ever got confirmation on that.

This is a rather bold prediction, but let’s hope it is true.
x ‼️ The most likely direction of Russia's breakthrough is Sumy region, but Putin has little chance of success, — The Telegraph ➡️ New attacks are carried out mostly by small groups of infantry. ➡️ New recruits are thrown into battle after a few days or a maximum of a month of training.
