Fighting Oligarchy Tour [1]

While the Hands Off! movement took the weekend off, Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were continuing their Fighting Oligarchy tour. Their message decries the country being taken over by Elon Musk and other billionaires buying elections and using their influence to buy elections and getting richer at the expense of the rest of America.
On Saturday, they were in Los Angeles. Neil Young, Joan Baez and Maggie Rogers were there.
Bernie Sanders led off with, "We are going to make our revolution with joy! We are going to sing and dance our way to victory against hatred and divisiveness."
Joan Baez started with the song "Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around," and changed the lyrics to "Ain't gonna let no white supremacists turn me around," and again with "Ain't gonna let those lousy billionaires turn me around." And it went uphill from there.
Neil Young was last with his electric guitar and harmonica. He said he had been worried that after his criticism of Trump that he could have been barred from entering the country coming back from his European tour. This is not far fetched. There was a British comic book creator who was coming back into the US from Canada, held in detention for 19 days, then told she was barred from entering the U.S. for 10 years before being sent back to Canada.
The tour has already been to Las Vegas, Denver, Greeley, CO, Tucson and Tempe, AZ, and is headed to Salt Lake City, Nampa, Idaho, Bakersfield, CA, Folsom and Missoula, Montana.
The events are listed on berniesanders.com, and you can RSVP that you're going to be at which one.
There were approximately 36,000 people at the Los Angeles gathering, consistent with the huge crowds at previous stops in the tour.
At the Tempe, AZ stop, Bernie said, "Well, when I talked about oligarchy over the years, I think for some people it was an abstraction...now people understand you have to be blind not to see that what we have today it's a government of the billionaires, by the billionaires for the billionaires."
Also at Tempe, AOC said, "Ironically, the most divisive forces in this country are actually starting to bring more of us together. And that's important, because the same billionaires that are taking a wrecking ball to our country derive their power from dividing working people apart."
Events are currently scheduled through April 16th. You can watch previous stops that were live streamed on BernieSanders.com, where there are YouTube links.
Tesla Takedown, HandsOff! and Fighting Oligarchy are all signs of an uprising that could take our country back before 2026. Maybe even this summer. Hot topics, hot weather and hot tempers could put Trump's government on its heels. I call it Trump's government because it's no longer ours.
Bernie and AOC have done something completely unique here. I am at a loss to find a comparison in history. We never had this situation before with a criminal president, a spineless Republican Congress and a hamstrung judiciary.
I'm looking forward to more of this every day. It gives me hope.
