How does one ban “DEI”?
Despite my critics, I find that I cannot stop writing about racism and other forms of discriminations. Tell you what, if you have any complaints speak to my manager “The Muse”, direct all your complaints to her, she will be glad to answer them sometime during your lifetime. Now onto the subject!
Yesterday I happened onto a YouTube segment talking about a Government Education website call end DEI, endei.ed.gov, it is a snitch site, there’s no other way to describe it, it is to snitch on “DEI” in your school districts.
Thing is, even most people who defend DEI, don’t know all that DEI policies are supposed to cover. Access to wheelchairs, special parking spaces, books for the blind, classes for those with all kinds of disabilities or learning difficulties, representation because it is important to understand someone’s culture and history when dealing with them, things like have feminine products in bathrooms, funds for special education students, etc.. DEI is not about Black folks, they are just included in DEI.
Right now this administration is dead set on banning DEI and I would like someone to explain to me how one bans Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility… not only HOW but WHY?
Are we going to remove ramps and wheelchair access like we are removing all identities but white people in our historical, military, museums, libraries? Are we going to ban braille books or audio books? Ban children with learning disabilities from school and adults from work places?. Force children with allergies to eat peanuts?
When you ban DEI hirings in an establishment does that mean they can no longer employ anyone who isn’t white and male? I know its claimed that standards for DEI “hires” are lower, but that is pure BS. While the criteria to be accepted into schools have been altered so minorities can attend, the testing and qualifications to graduate have not.
Are you going to take canes away from blind students? Remove the ear implants of those with hearing problems? I know it’s about reducing the teachings of the accomplishments of minorities in the US, yes I got that part, but when you send out an order to end DEI practices, you are not just erasing my history you are also putting the erasing all the progress done to allow all members of our society to progress.
Black folks will be the least affected by your banning DEI. We teach our kids our history, we’ve kept it alive for hundreds of years without your schools. We open our own businesses and employ our own. We set up our own networks, for we have learned not to trust or depend on the country we love to take care of us.
Once more you will be hurting your own. Your children who are autistics, have down syndrome, have allergies, ADHD, are in wheelchairs, have hearing or sight problems, also your women who have the most profited from the hiring practices of DEI, your elderlies, your veterans (yes mental health is part of DEI).
This “ban DEI crusade” is beyond asinine. It is just as asinine as the Tariffs plans which blew up in your face.
