According to Strong Towns lead story producer Seairra Jones the Foxconn Taiwanese multi-billionaire Terry Gou tried to negotiate a deal with the the state of Indiana to build a LCD screen factory that would provide 13,000 jobs. en.wikipedia.org/… en.wikipedia.org/... Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker stepped in and got the deal for Wisconsin en.wikipedia.org/…
President Donald Trump was present at the 2017 groundbreaking ceremony.
Foxconn’s factory was never operational. As of 2021 Wisconsin had spent $683 million. www.strongtowns.org/.…
Microsoft has bought the factory land and paid $50 million to Foxconn and not the state of Wisconsin. Wonderful negotiating skill Scott Walker.
This factory might be important if the Chinese Tariffs were put into effect and our economy needed locally manufactured LCD screens.
The details of this are outlined in the journalist Lawrence Tabak book “Foxconned: Imagenary Jobs, Bulldozed Homes, and the Sacking of Local Government”.
