Donald says his tariffs are going really well [1]

Donald Trump is the one who has a quick disconnect with reality. Didn't know there was a charge for it, but even services will go up in price.
The first thing Trump did this morning was let us know that he hasn't learned a thing and never will.
"We are doing really well on our TARIFF policy."
I'm expecting him to do another bonehead move after China raised our tariff up to 125%. The problem is that it in his cabinet meeting yesterday, they all sucked up to him and told him he was doing well. That's what he wanted to hear.
"Very exciting for America and the World!!!"
I don't know if I would call it exciting. More like tariff terrorism. It certainly has everyone's attention.
"It is moving along quickly."
Yes, everything and everyone is getting really close to the edge of the cliff. Any quicker and it's over for the US economy and the world. Did none of the hundreds of people saying that this was a self-inflicted wound mean nothing to you?
He cares about Russians dying but not a twit for Ukrainians. Agent Krasnov doesn't want to be a casualty himself.
Once again, the war:
"...should never have happened, wouldn't have happened, if I were President!!!"
This is another one of those things that Donald thinks if he says it often enough, it must be true in his own brain, even though we know it's silly.
Then comes one of the most confusing posts Donald has ever made.
"The House and Senate should push for more Daylight at the end of the day."
Usually, one talks about daylight at the end of a tunnel. At the end of the day, there's less daylight, in fact it disappears into that strange thing we call night. You must have had too much coffee, or something.
"Very popular and, most importantly, no more changing of clocks, a big inconvenience, and for our government a VERY COSTLY EVENT!!!"
Okay, yesterday there was talk in the Senate about doing away with daylight savings time. But he never mentions it. It still doesn't fix the first sentence, much.
Daylight savings time has been debated since it was created. Richard Nixon got rid of it, and it was something of a disaster. It's better just to leave it alone. The Senate passed a bill in 2022 to do away with it, but the House of Representatives did nothing with it.
Why was this brought up now when there are so many more important things to deal with? There's the economy, people's livelihoods, the destruction of agencies that control our lives, and safety.
The Senate could be doing much more important work.
The problem is that both sides are right. Getting rid of it would do one set of things. Keeping it supports another set of things.
But, with Donald's intelligence factor, he should stay out of anything that's important.
Donald is getting his checkup at Walter Reed Hospital today. It's a physical, not a mental checkup. We'll probably get a note from his doctor that he's just fine. But we need the mental checkup even more now.
His schedule says the checkup is going to take almost 5 hours. Then he flies back to Palm Beach and a stay at Mar-Lago. That means, I hope, no more executive orders today.
Hey, Trump didn't threaten China with more tariffs, so it's got to be a good day. Maybe.
