A government of grifters, by bullies, for fools [1]

This is where we are, senators and lawmakers with Podcasts and Streams, promoting their channels and merch. A government run by the clicks and likes of social media. A white house turned into a marketing agency complete with special deals.

I wonder if you realize how truly depraved our country has become? Yes, I know 5 million of you took to the streets 1 day to say hands off your Medicare and social security and you plan to do it again 3 weeks after… perhaps even one every month like a book club or something. I’m being harsh I know but that’s not how you get rid of fascism.

No matter where you stand on the war in the middle east, you should be beyond outraged; to have a president saying he wants to raze an entire population so he can build resorts in a country that is not his to rule. That same ruler has said he’s thinking about sending American Citizens to the worst jail in the world in another country. Has already had people kidnapped off the streets and sent there. Has bragged about how he wants world leaders to kiss his ass and beg and buy favors from him. Has turned our justice department into a weapon of mass retribution. Has our SCOTUS into sniveling enablers.

We have a citizenry loudly demanding that officials “do something” but what they mean is they want to see viral clips on social media, because to them if you’re not doing it in front of a screen you’re not doing anything. Your number of followers has become more important than your ethics or morals. People with big accounts have more sway than people with expertise.

The only thought we give others, is how we can use their devastating stories to make a few tiktoks and gain some more followers. Our outrage is as fleeting as a viral video. Our compassion dictated by our moral du jour, for we stand on no real ethics. The only measuring stick we know is how much does this affect me?

We watch atrocity after atrocity, abuse after abuse, unfold before our eyes, as we plan our next “take”. This government is a reflection of us, all of us. The reason we are not out there every single day protesting these orders and actions is because our goal is not to redress the wrongs being done, it’s to feel good about ourselves.

We are humans in name only, for we have lost all semblance of humanity.
