trump's Tariff Mayhem will not end well [1]

While the world burns with trump’s lunatic tariffs that went into effect at midnight, trump boasted last night at the NRCC dinner that “These countries are calling us up, kissing my ass. Please, Sir, make a deal. I’ll do anything. I’ll do anything, Sir.” www.independent.co.uk/...

My ass, countries are kissing up to trump; this is trump trying to maintain the illusion among his supporters that things are going swimmingly well with his lunatic destructive tariff policy.

China is not doing any kissing for sure, so trump levied an extra 50% tariff on it, to which China responded with another tit-for-tat tariff of 50% on U.S. goods. finance.yahoo.com/...

After decades of progress on international trade and tariffs, this shock therapy serves no purpose except to stroke a madman’s ego and to inflict pain and suffering on the world.

On top of that, trump is insisting on the budget package passed by the Senate with trillions of additional debt. We wonder how China, which holds a substantial portion of U.S. treasuries, will react.

trump is not backing off yet. He still thinks that countries like China, Europe, Canada and Mexico will roll over, the way his republican colleagues always do. Next, he is planning on levying additional tariffs on pharmaceuticals, as if drugs are not expensive enough already

And the assault on the federal govt, our economy, the environment, our healthcare system and our values continues -

There are some grumblings from some republican senators up for reelection in 2026 and by some in the business community, including musk.

But we do not know how this will end, except that it will end poorly, as we watch our savings and retirement accounts shrink day-by-day.

Let’s keep reminding the electorate that trump is a conman, a fraudster, a mobster, with no understanding of economics or trade, who wants to burn everything down to line his own pockets and to exact his revenge against his perceived enemies. And the entire republican party is a co-conspirator. Let’s throw the bums out in 2026 and bring back sanity and normalcy.

What does your crystal ball say — about developments later this week and in the long term, about the economy, about public opinion and about the 2026 elections?
