"I told my people, never use the word 'coal' unless you put 'beautiful, clean' before it.” [1]

Trump’s campy embrace of the coal industry resembles the ret-conning of the gay subtext to the song, Y.M.C.A. The Trump administration steps into a RWNJ dimension where GOP gays in government deny their hatred of tolerance.
Similarly, calling coal ‘beautiful and clean’ only makes Trump’s stupidity more manifest, like his seizure of the Kennedy Center in DC. If only all the repression there could compress coal enough to make diamonds, Trump wouldn’t have to pander to a revisionism that ignores the Harlan County USA character of the coal industry. Like “tariff”, the contradiction reduces to a comic ‘bit’ diverting your attention from its lethality during a climate crisis, because environmental regulation is “woke”.
Trump, who has pushed for U.S. “energy dominance” in the global market, has long suggested that coal can help meet surging electricity demand from manufacturing and the massive data centers needed for artificial intelligence. “I call it beautiful, clean coal. I told my people, never use the word coal unless you put beautiful clean before it,” Trump said Tuesday at a White House ceremony. “Pound for pound, coal is the single most reliable, durable, secure and powerful form of energy,” Trump added. “It’s cheap, incredibly efficient, high density, and it’s almost indestructible. You could drop a bomb on it and it’s going to be there for you to use the next day.” Still, energy experts say any bump for coal under Trump is likely to be temporary because natural gas is cheaper and there’s a durable market for renewable energy such as wind and solar power no matter who holds the White House. Trump’s actions seek to reverse a decades-long decline in U.S. coal production. His administration has targeted regulations under former President Joe Biden’s administration that could hasten closures of heavily polluting coal power plants and the mines that supply them. www.pbs.org/... x Trump is doing a White House event right now to hype coal

Trump just laid off the entire CDC unit that monitors miner health.
1) Coal isn't a mineral
2) US coal isn't scarce or import-reliant
3) US coal has no supply chain risk
4) Coal isn't critical to modern tech
