There’s a method to the madness of throwing all this at us in the first few months, for in 4 years most of his voters will have forgotten how it started. The same way you forgot what it was really like under the first term, so much so that you elected him again.
In a few months, the administration will roll back some of the more controversial policies or tone them down. Maybe they’ll drop the tariffs on the penguins and volcanoes. The deportations will be called a success and slowed down, if things get too dire, there are all these handy fanatical hires right on hand to be blamed: Musk, Hegseth, Bondi, Kennedy, Gabbard, Noem, Navarro, Patel, Rubio, Lutnik, etc… “it wasn’t me, I didn’t know him very well” sounds familiar?
They will restart a few of the programs previously cut, staffed with their own yes people to stuff their pockets, and you will feel a bit better. Ah USAID is back!
The economy will start picking up a bit and he’ll scream victory and say “see I told you so”, you will exhale a sigh of relief as they hope you don’t realize that the little tick up is barely a bleep of what was lost. Prices that have gone up 50% will come down 5% and you’ll cheer.
By the time 4 years roll around, we’ll be subjected to the “Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago” routine complete with pictures of the economic crash that will be blamed on Biden. You will look around and say yes! That was a scary time, but just like covid, you’ll forget who it actually happened under.
And you will go to the polls and vote in another republican. Unless there’s an actual take down right now before all of this happens. They are betting on you forgetting how bad the first 6 months or the first year was. However long this madness lasts.
