While Stock Markets Are Bouncing Around Like Gigolos' Bedrooms... [1]

The EU is considering targeted tariffs.

Might I suggest a different strategy?

How about the EU ignoring the US for a while and doing nothing?

Just let our internal markets decide, i.e., we the people.

I have been through our house, and all I have is a Cuisinart food processor. It's old but still in excellent condition. [It was made in China, though] that was designed in the US.

Gasoline? No need

Electricity is not needed.

My father's ancient Mercedes is awaiting conversion [and money], and we have one new Renault 5 electric on order for my wife. I use an e-trike for daily shopping, and I get maple syrup for free.

OK, so maybe I am a bit out of the norm.

American cars really are not convenient nor designed for most of us here, too damn big and the interiors, yuck the quality of the plastic.

Food, we do just fine. Mainly produced within a few kilometers locally. I want chicken, beef, and other meat products that are not raised ethically. GMOs [GM foods] don’t need nor want them, and I'm not a fan of Monsanto.

Wine and spirits? Why?

Every product is subject to VAT [where applicable], no matter who makes it, so that is a nonstarter.

So I hope our suggestion should be.

Make products we want, and maybe we will buy them when they meet our standards.

Oh, and get back to agreeing with the Paris Agreement, The Treaty of Rome and stop pissing about in the UN.

The application of the Rule of Law would be nice.

Just a thought from a US expat living abroad.
