One thing I’ve noticed since the HandsOff protests, is a sudden rise in clapback from those that participated in those protests towards Black Folks. Most of it is going by unnoticed for their seemingly innocent comments, but not a few are direct attacks.

I’m not talking about people that were already berating Black Folks for taking a step back, I’m talking about followers, mutuals, so called allies. They are on a power and ego trip, just like they were after their “White women for Harris” zoom calls. High on their own high so to speak.

This only proves that they never understood the reasons we were stepping back despite playing lip service to our stance. For the record, our stepping back doesn’t mean we are not fighting back, it means it is the only way to force white people to get involved and take action. It was also because we knew if Black folks got involved, the police would have come out with their tear gas and rubber bullets.

But we all know that once they get a taste of their power they will revert back to full blown racism, acting like saviors (should they succeed) we must be prepared for that BlackLash. So don’t be surprised by the innuendoes and jabs, we knew they were coming. Don’t be provoked into attending the next ones, the dangers are still real.

We don’t care how fascism gets overthrown, as long as it does get overthrown, we don’t care who gets the credits. Our consciences are clear, our reasoning is sound, our motives are clean and frankly it’s really no surprise to any of us, that racism lurks beneath the pale mooners.

They will hold those rallies over us and wave them about like trophies, for to them everything is a competition. The very concept of the word “ally” escapes them and that’s why they have no clue that in this case we are being the allies, playing up their strength and backing their play. We know our presence would be a handicap, but as usual they are only listening to the sound of their own voices. It is true that our stance is also a learning moment for them but that’s the cherry on top.

So stand firm fam, don’t be provoked. The outcome is not unexpected, just as the voting trend was not unexpected.
