Sunday Morning Open Thread with a Little Protest Music [1]

Good morning, malcontents.

Here it is, very early Saturday morning, and I hadn’t even started this diary. Then I heard a bit on a repeat of one of MSNBC’s evening news shows about all the Hands Off demonstrations that are scheduled to take place on Saturday. I figured, why not run some protest songs? Even though this diary won’t be published until after Saturday’s demonstrations are over there are certain to be more. Count on it.

This diary did prove just a bit tougher, and take a bit longer, than I first expected. It’s not that there aren’t plenty of protest songs on Youtube. There are. The problem was that so many of them are too era-specific. For instance, we are no longer fighting Hitler nor the Viet Cong. Until someone composes something against the Tr*mp administration we just have to settle for some generic rabble rousing music. IMHO, they are still pretty good.

I wish I was able to go to a rally. Sadly, I didn’t trust my car to get me clear down to Madison and back. However, the pics made it look like fun.
