My eldest son is a junior at Hamilton College. They have a donor-sponsored speaker program called Great Names. Past speakers have included both Clintons, Colin Powell, and Desmond Tutu, among others. Pretty elite company for a 2k student body librul arts college in Central NY. Anyway, in case you haven't heard, BHO44 himself decided to break his post-election silence and visit Hamilton for a little Q&A with President Steven Tepper. All 5400 seats "sold out" - tickets were free, students and staffers were guaranteed entry, and friends and family could join in the fun through a lottery process. I was lucky enough to score 3 tickets for the family, so we made the trip up the Hill to join my son to hear the man speak.

Full transcript of his remarks.
He was quite good, of course, and enthusiastically received. One particular highlight:
Imagine if I had done any of this. (Laughter.) I just want to be clear about this. (Cheers, applause.) Imagine if I had pulled Fox News’ credentials from the White House press corps. You’re laughing, but this is what’s happening. Imagine if I had said to law firms that were representing parties that were upset with policies my administration had initiated, that you will not be allowed into government buildings.
He never mentioned Dolt 45 by name, but we all knew what he was referring to :)
He went on to say a little later:
Let me just close this portion of my remarks by saying it is up to all of us to fix this. (Applause.) It’s not going to be because somebody comes and saves you. The most important office in this democracy is the citizen, the ordinary person who says, no, that’s not right. I do think one of the reasons that our commitment to democratic ideals has eroded is that we got pretty comfortable and complacent. It has been easy during most of our lifetimes to say you are a progressive or say you are for social justice or say you’re for free speech and not have to pay a price for it. Now we’re at one of those moments where, you know what? It’s not enough just to say you’re for something; you may actually have to do something and possibly sacrifice a little bit.
Wise words, sir. You are missed.
Side note: it was also BHOs 1st time ever speaking at a college campus outside of a commencement address.
