Went to today’s HandsOff rally at the state capital here in Maine. An interesting cross section of our state; geezers in wheelchairs, young people, kids in strollers, working people and your basic grampa and granma from the across the street. Lots and lots of interesting signs…delete Trump, save our social security, and even a shy young woman who held a sign “things are so bad even the introverts are here.” This was a crowd of moms and pops, retirees and young professionals. Very DEI. Police estimated 3000 people at the Capitol. There were protests today in Bangor, Bar Harbor, and Southwest Harbor, and that is just local. If you scan pictures at other protests in the big cities like Chicago you’ll see hundreds of thousands of people letting folks in Washington they are not happy. Well over a thousand such rallies are taking place today at state capitals, federal buildings and congressional offices. I think when all is said and done we will find millions of Americans have turned out to protest the attempted fascist takeover of our country.
