We have lots of words for the known senses; sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, heat, cold, pain. But we sometimes need words for senses that just don’t translate. The intuition, the aura, the seemingly psychic.
Some will say that intuition is your brain acting on information you don’t consciously know you have. Quite possible. And maybe there really are more senses than are dreamt of in your philosophy, Horatio.
How do you indicate these extra feels in your writing? Describe physical sensations like prickling? Voices in a character’s head? Are your characters prone to psychic episodes, actually talented in that way, or quite oblivious?
write a scene in which one of your characters detects something ‘odd’ by something other than normal sensory channels.
