First off, Im aware these tariffs might not stick, certainly not all those countries, and that T-rump can change his addled mind at any moment, but this diary is wondering if there is a fever dream being attempted.
I know this has been discussed in the past, but I just read in Politico about the companies that will be hit hard in Vietnam, and one of them was NIKE. Thats when it hit me — the dismantling of the government agencies that support our workforces’s rights and safety, the new, stronger war against unions, and last but definitely not least, the destruction of all the many governmental agencies’ safetynets our government provides to keep us out of poverty. Honestly, am I reading too much into this, is this just the different people in power in the Whitehouse doing their own pet projects for financial and sociopathic gain, or is this a more co-ordinated long term plan to get NIKE (just an example) to build factories here, with promises of lax regulations, less safety protocols and lower worker wages?
Im asking because I dont know what to think anymore in regards to what trajectories/LONG BALL is happening, or not happening and it really is just a free for all for the sociopaths(or worse) running the country.
