Lunatic Laura Loomer is now in charge of US national security [1]

In a 30-minute meeting yesterday, 9/11 conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer marched into the Oval Office with a sheaf of papers and told President Trump to fire National Security Council officials, and Trump obligingly followed her orders and fired six of them. NSC head Mike Waltz did not object.

In “Trump Fires N.S.C. Officials After Oval Office Meeting With Laura Loomer”, NYT reporters Maggie Haberman, Jonathan Swan and Ken Bensinger write:

… senior officials who have discussed Mr. Waltz privately with the president say that Mr. Trump’s reluctance to fire his national security adviser is more a matter of him wanting to avoid bad publicity than a sign of confidence in Mr. Waltz. Mr. Trump has made clear to his staff that he does not want to give the media the satisfaction of seeing Mr. Waltz fired.

So there you have it. Our National Security Council head Mike Waltz is not in charge of the National Security Council. A 9/11 conspiracy theorist is.
