The Trump Regime's Willful and Methodical Dishonesty Behind the Claims About the Deported Men [1]

Trump regime apologists and bootlickers have gotten very practiced very fast at declaring “They are dangerous criminals and the Democrats want to keep them in the US.” Amidst the deluge of lies, dishonesty, grift and general maliciousness of the Trump regime, this lie stands out for its thoroughgoing, willful, and methodical dishonesty. This lie is being deployed to serve many purposes, including an attack on the rule of law.

The standard Trump regime talking point about deportations is simple:

These people are dangerous! We need to get them out of the US for Americans to be safe. (And Democrats are opposed!)

This assertion has specific variations depending on the speaker, but the underlying message is the same. It is all about creating a false urgency to act and therefore ignore due process.

It is dishonest and revealing.

We cannot know (and those making this argument) cannot know if the people being deported are truly dangerous. There has been no evidence presented in court or to anyone who could test it. Anyone asserting that these persons are dangerous are, at minimum, spreading propaganda. Their claims are veridically worthless.

Even if we accept the claim that these men are dangerous, the fact that the Trump regime has arrested them has mitigated the danger. Why? Well, if they pose a threat, the Trumpists could go to court and present their evidence, and the men would be jailed pending a deportation hearing. Any danger they pose would be greatly reduced.

We do not even know if they have committed any crimes in the US. Again, there’s been no evidence presented. Any claims about them being criminals is at a minimum unproven.

Which raises the obvious question:

Why not present evidence in court?

There are a few obvious reasons:

They do not have any evidence to back up their claims

They have evidence but it is bad or weak or not legally admissible

They have evidence but have been in such a rush it is not ready to be presented

They just don’t want to present it

Which leads me to the final thought:

The Trump regime wanted propaganda, and they did not care about rule of law or due process or justice; they got their video of these men being abused and dehumanized, and Kristi Noem got her staged video, and they got to look tough.

So next time one of these pissants talks about dangerous gang members or immigrants, ask, “Where’s the evidence? Not that some immigrant somewhere committed a crime but evidence the people you want to deport actually committed crimes?”
