Scaredy Trump delays tariffs until 4pm — Exact time the stock market closes [1]

Want another clue that Trump’s team may be panicked about “Liberation Day” and its fallout? I was trying to find the time of Trump’s announcement so I could digest the insanity & what it may mean for my finances in real time. I thought I’d read it was supposed to be early afternoon, but according to NBC News Trump will speak at 4pm Eastern. Why wait until the end of the day for such a “beautiful” announcement? I had to Google to confirm, but yes — that’s the exact time the stock market closes for the day. Coincidence?
It seems to me that Trump’s team is so afraid of the coming stock market crash caused solely by Trump’s moronic tariffs, that they think announcing the details after market close today will help them in some way (LOL!) They can say “the crash didn’t happen ON Liberation Day!, it was the next day bc markets were already closed at announcement time!” — as if 1 extra news cycle will help them avoid the catastrophic consequences about to hit the American & global economies because of Trump. I hate to break it to them, but the sun will come out tomorrow & they can’t hide forever!
It really feels like this could be the beginning of the sea change we’ve needed in this country, with last night’s encouraging election results, Sen. Cory Booker’s inspirational speech, etc. These tariffs are hitting at the exact wrong time (for the bad guys) — they will completely crash the economy & there will be no denying it is all Trump’s fault. And we’re already in a moment of political weakness for the QOP. The House floor is shut down due to infighting, and even if congressional R's pass a budget scam this week they will NOT be able to punt the specific $800B cuts, etc. any longer. The debate over Medicare, Social Security & Medicaid spending will all be part of that, and it will be ugly & difficult for them.
Lastly, I just want to mention that IMO this all validates the wisdom of avoiding a “Democratic shutdown” a few weeks ago. Can you imagine the muddied waters if the shutdown was still ongoing? S*** is about to SERIOUSLY hit the fan in the economy, and now NONE of it can be remotely blamed on Democrats, even by the disgusting, decrepit mainstream/corporate/billionaire media that both-sides any chance they get. Everything that is about to happen to the market & economy with these tariffs — all the rage will be directed toward Trump, Musk & Rs.
Unfortunately for us all, we will have plenty of ammunition to use against the QOP in the coming elections to gain progressive power & FINALLY stamp out the Confederate MAGA poison for good. Let’s focus & win our country back!
