Milbank capitulates like other lemming law firms [1]

Another good law firm has bit the dust by bending to Trump's will. It's like Trump has a fill-in form and he just needs to put in the name of the firm.
This might be a little different. According to the company webpage, Neal Katyal just joined the firm as a partner. If you watch MSNBC, you've seen him on many times doing legal analysis, always about Trump's latest assault on the law.
If Katyal doesn't react to this in a public way, he'll almost surely be quizzed about it on his next appearance on MSNBC, if he ever shows up again.
This time Trump has posted in a different way with a photo of the surrender terms.
Trump has blackmailed them for another $100 million in pro bono work for Trump causes. Get rid of DEI. Must offer services to people they detest. They have to hire people they don't like, either. Milbank has to pay for outside services to confirm they don't do DEI discrimination again.
Milbank obeyed in advance by going to Trump first to kiss the ring.
They have to help Trump in his crusade to "... end the Weaponization of the Justice System and Legal Profession." Hard to end it when you're creating it.
"The President continues to build an unrivaled network of Lawyers." I'm not even sure I know how to respond to that one. It would seem to me that Trump is killing the whole law firm industry. If you can call it that.
"Milbank is pleased that we were so quickly able to find common ground."
That common ground looks to be like six feet under.
Two thirds of the statement is about pro bono work. Trump is really pleased to have leveraged hundreds of millions of dollars out of law firms to serve the conservative criminals that there would be if Trump wasn't president. Now he can get the best help for the Jan.6th criminals when they commit crimes again. No money out of his own pocket like he promised.
The last piece of the puzzle is Neal Katyal. How will he take this? Was he consulted as a partner. If not, what does he think of that?
Milbank caved because they still wanted to take money to the bank. The question is what will their customers think about their capitulation. I predict that they will lose customers as a result. Much more than the ones that they will get by bowing to Trump.
How many more large law firms are left? Turns out there are quite a few. Ones like Kirkland & Ellis. 3,500 lawyers and $8.8 billion in revenue. They seem to be the biggest. I'd say there are 15 more Trump would want to hit.
These law firms need to learn how to lawyer up.
