Many here blame the Democrats for things.
I don’t. I don’t blame the Christian right, and I don’t blame the patriarchy. I don’t even blame white supremacy.
I blame the Republicans.
The Republicans
Starting with the Reagan Revolution’s solidifying the great Southern white flight from the Democratic party, Republicans have been dead set on one thing and one thing only:
deregulation and tax cuts for the rich. All in the relentless pursuit of turning over more of what used to be our country and the world to the oligarchs, the plutocrats and Big Money. That. Is. It.
That is all they care about.
Christian nationalism, sexism, and white supremacy are and always have been a means to that end.
From Gingrich’s Contract on America and the birth of FOX, though Rove’s ‘permanent majority’, then the Tea Party and Palin, Trump, his MAGA cult and Musk are the inevitable conclusion. The whole party is rotten, has been for decades, and is single-mindedly committed to handing over everything to the rich by
— divide and rule through culture wars and non-stop propaganda;
— slowly and then with much greater speed repealing the New Deal and the Great Society.
That has been their goal, and they are winning. For now. That is what Project 25 is all about.
So, if you want to blame someone, blame the Republicans. And demand from our Democratic leaders to get on board and fight.
