Musk Reveals Mind Blowing Ignorance of the Social Security System [1]

Fox News reported today that Elon Musk “discovered” millions of foreign citizens have been given Social Security numbers. Fox described the discovery as “mind blowing”. Perhaps if Elon and the crew at Fox would learn to question their assumptions and use Google before revealing their ignorance in national media, they would not be so astounded.
Why? Well, because with a simple visit to Wikipedia they would have found this:
“In the United States, a Social Security number (SSN) is a nine-digit number issued to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and temporary (working) residents under section 205(c)(2) of the Social Security Act, codified as 42 U.S.C.”
Which is to say there are many instances where foreign citizens legally working in the United States are given Social Security numbers, have Social Security accounts, and make contributions to those accounts based on their wages.
Mr. Musk has revealed himself to be a fool, ignorant of easily discoverable facts, arrogant, and pompous. He seems to be unashamed as this is not the first time he has proclaimed his false assumptions about the workings of the Social Security system as a rationale to call its integrity into question.
Fox presented Musk’s “discovery” in unquestioning fashion, distorting the truth.
