Kitchen Table Kibitzing ~ 3.31.24 [1]

~Today is Cesar Chavez Day. As a teen I lived in a Cesar Chavez house. The activists who worked to help improve conditions for farmworkers were paid little if all. There were houses all over where they could stay for free. It was an amazing time in my life when I lived in one such house.
~My sister went to college in Grand Rapids Michigan. At the time that she was there it was illegal to run loud power tools or mow your lawn on Sunday.
As I sit here in Nashville, TN on a Sunday, I’ve now been listening to a neighbor run a chain saw for an hour and a half. I can’t believe I live in the bible belt, and we don’t have that law.
I have one scar on my face right next to my eye and one down by my lip from when I was bit in the face by a standard poodle doing just what the little kid is doing in the video below.
I’ve been a dog trainer for over 30 years now and taught dog safety classes in schools, to utility workers, bicycle clubs, and other groups who come into contact with dogs and I’m telling you,
Don’t do this!!!
The TV show of the week is Survival of the Thickest. It’s very fun, but a warning, there is a lot of sex and drugs. (Oh, wait, maybe that’s why it’s so much fun.)
The movie of the week is Heart Beats Loud
