Cory Booker is channeling Mr. Smith Goes to Washington right now in the Senate [1]

On Jen Psaki, she showed a shot of Sen. Cory Booker on the Senate floor who said he was going to do everything in his power, as long as he was physically able, to disrupt the business of the Senate.
He's doing this in order to make the Senate and the rest of the United States realize that we are in a period of crisis.
This is so much like James Stewart in "Mr Smith Goes to Washington" when he did the same thing, until he finally passed out.
This is what used to be known as a filibuster.
This is history in the making.
Unless I don't have a clue, this is going to hit the news soon.
It has hit the news.
The theme is Medicaid and cuts being planned, when there should be more aid, not less.
The House wants $880 billion in cuts over a decade. This makes no sense. Over that period of time there will be more people on the plan and higher costs that the non-wealthy would have to bear. Medicaid funding should be going up each year.
Trump promised that Social Security would not be touched. He lied. He said Medicare would not be touched but the Republican plan is to turn recipients over to private insurers. Trump lied again. Now the Republicans want to cut Medicaid. Trump lied a third time on all the entitlement programs because they are such large budgets items. They don't want to do the real work like on the Defense Dept. which has not passed an audit in years.
Cory has been quoting Sen. John McCain and why he voted no on trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
He also pointed out what all of us know. That the plan is to give tax breaks to the rich by taking away from the poor. The reverse of Robin Hood.
He just brought up about military waste. He just talked about the audit failures.
Chuck Schumer is doing tag team by talking and giving Cory direction questions.
Several times he's circled back to maternal fatality.
HHS Secretary JFK Jr has rescinded the "Richardson Waiver," which required public comment before policies were enacted. This ended transparency and stakeholder input.
He tapped his phone on the small table that holds the lectern and saw and said he'd been talking for four hours and eleven minutes.
Finally had to put on his glasses to read directly quickly from his notes.
Now he going over the medical research grants being canceled at NIH.
