Donnie quotes Churchill and Reagan to support tariffs? [1]

I'm not sure what Donald is up to today. Maybe he was playing around with Grok and it picked a couple quotes after asking for attacks on socialism.
"FREE ENTERPRISE!!" It's a new deal at the car rental company. How many things has he done to promote his businesses since taking office? He does advertisements, rolls out cryptocurrencies, pauses the Federal Corruption Practices Act so he can bribe people outside of the country, and maybe take a couple himself, and reduce the Beneficial Owner Information requirements next to nothing so his 500 shell companies don't have to report what they're doing, or how much money they're making, so he can avoid taxes. To make that even more likely he cuts the staff at the IRS so they'll never get to his return.
It's hard for me to think that Trump believes in "FREE ENTERPRISE" when he's throwing tariffs on everything. It's supposed to mean that whoever does the best job wins. Tariffs are not a level playing field, although Trump has tried to make the case for them doing so, but there are other ways, like trade treaties. There was NAFTA, but then Trump negotiated USMCA. Even better. But now he is ignoring it completely. Way to go, Donald!
Hmm, Karl Marx said, "Democracy is the road to socialism." Hard to figure that out, considering his philosophy.
How about Deng Xiaoping, a Chinese communist? "Poverty is not socialism. To be rich is glorious." This doesn't seem to be adding up.
"To me, what socialism means is to guarantee a basic level of dignity. It's asserting the value of saying that the America we want and the America we are proud of is one in which children can access a dignified education. It's one in which no person is too poor to have the medicines they need to live." Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. It can mean different things to different people. It's not necessarily bad. But it can become a curse word like DEI. Inherently bad wherever you see it.
Sometimes you just have to look at things through the lens of history. Churchill's quote was from May 28, 1948. WWII was over, but Stalin and the Soviet Union had become an enemy and socialism was equated with communism. The man was good with words. He kept the British hopes alive in WWII.
The quote from Reagan is actually from a 1935 book by a Canadian humorist. Reagan was dealing with a Soviet Union on the way out. I can't find out when he said it, even at his presidential library. It's still a good and short line. Typical of Reagan.
Donald using them to defend his tariffs is what I think he intended. He could have been taking a shot at Bernie Sanders and AOC, but that does jibe with free enterprise.
Trying to figure out the mind of Donald Trump is an impossible job, because he doesn't have one. Sometimes he is asked questions about things he has no knowledge of and then asks somebody to research it for him. Other times he sees things in other people's social media posts and the thoughts become his own, whether he reposts them or not. That's the danger. He gloms onto things just to be controversial and take up time on the news every day. He thinks his quoting Churchill and Reagan makes him look intelligent. He thinks he's a TV star. That's a lot of what being Trump is all about. He cares a lot about TV and is doing his best to take control of it's message and the news, as all dictators do.
Brendan Carr, Charman of the FCC, is already on Disney and ABC's case for DEI, when the real reason is the ABC moderators fact checking him at the Presidential debate.
Trump is still suing CBS for the "editing" of the Kamala Harris 60 Minutes interview. Brendan Carr has also said he's following up on that.
NBC has so far not been attacked by Carr. But that is coming because they're the only one who have ever fired Donald. They cut ties with Trump and his The Apprentice show as soon as he came down the golden elevator and started spewing his vile hatred of Mexicans. He also hates all of MSNBC, which he curses regularly in his Truth Social posts. So, NBC is in the wings.
He loves attention. Sometimes I may be helping him get coverage, but he would never stand for the ridicule to which I subject him. But, I'm never going to stop as long as he is president.
We're two months plus in on Trump's presidency. My prediction was, and still is, that he would screw up so badly that he would be removed from office in six months. He's doing a great job of putting himself in jeopardy. He destroyed a great economy he was handed. Prices are going up. He just said he doesn't care car prices are going up. He's pissed off all our allies who now believe the US can no longer be trusted to follow through on commitments. They were already wondering if the US could be trusted with their intelligence, and then Signalgate happened to prove they couldn't. Turned our back on Ukraine when every intelligent person knows Putin has to be stopped now or else the cost in lives and money increases exponentially.
He's ruined years of integration in the military. Decapitated USAID. VOA is temporarily saved. Sent the stock market down the toilet. Reduced agencies we depend on for health and the environment to almost nothing. Threatening Social Security. Next is Medicare and Medicaid.
There's more, but I don't want this story to go on forever. And I'm way off topic. Not all the Senate Republicans are as stupid as Tommy Tuberville. Not all the House Republicans are as worthless as James Comer and MTG. Trump keeps making them look stupid having to defend him. Their. constituents are rising up against them for supporting Trump and Musk.
That's why I think Trump won't last six months. Quotes from intelligent people won't help him.
