The Plan to Destroy Social Security Is Emerging [1]

So, I just finished watching the Fox news interview with Elon Musk, and reading a nice diary here on kos where anyone complaining about not getting benefits is a fraudster and it made me think of the mechanics of Elon’s plan to destroy and loot Social Security.

This is probably obvious to anyone paying attention, but I wanted to put it out there in a formatted way that describes how it would work. if I am right, it seems to me the plan works like this.

Step 1: Manufacture a Fraud Crisis

Loudly insist that Social Security is riddled with fraud.

Of course, this is bullshit. A 2022 report from the SSA estimated that improper payments—which include both fraud and non-fraud errors—accounted for just 0.4% to 0.7% of total Social Security payments. And many of these are just bureaucratic errors that get fixed. But by constantly claiming “fraud,” Musk is priming his base to believe that a huge chunk of benefits are undeserved.

He is saying in effect: “don’t worry dear MAGA Social Security recipient. We won’t go after your benefits, just like we won’t go after immigrants who aren’t committing crimes. We are only after the “fraud and there is a lot of it”.

Musk is trying to create in MAGA the idea, that he is in fact protecting them from the looters who are making Social Security go bankrupt. So that they will feel later cuts are justified

Step 2: Use Fox News to Cement the Narrative

Going on Fox helps, even when a so-called journalist like Bret Baier plays the role of skeptical interviewer. Consider this moment from the interview:

"I think that most people, common-sense-wise, would say the fraud's gotta end. But they're concerned about the 94-year-old mother who skips a check or somehow doesn't get what she's supposed to get."

See the rhetorical trick? The conversation starts by assuming fraud is real and widespread (even though we've established it's not). Then Baier subtly reassures the audience that Musk will be very careful—as if the real concern is accidental enforcement, not the fact that this is a manufactured crisis to begin with.

Step 3: Prime MAGA to Dismiss the Victims

Now comes the psychological warfare.

Musk lays the groundwork for preemptively discrediting anyone who complains. In the interview, he said:

"One of the things I learned at PayPal was, you know who complains the loudest? And with the most amount of fake righteous indignation? The fraudsters. That’s—it's a tell."

Translation? If someone is upset about losing their benefits, that means they were scamming the system.

So, when real people start suffering—when someone’s mom faces eviction because her check disappeared—MAGA’s response will be:

"LOL, no longer getting your fraud benefits, huh? Guess you’ll have to work for a living."

And if you point out that these aren’t fraudsters, they’ll shift to another racist dog whistle:

"No, no, that yelling Black granny wasn’t getting real benefits. She’s just another welfare queen living large on your dime!"

Step 4: Make It as Hard as Possible to Get Benefits Back

Even when people can prove they earned their benefits—when that Black grandmother has 40 years of work history and every document in order—the next layer of cruelty kicks in: Bureaucratic hell.

Musk has already been making it harder to verify identity, closing field offices, and deliberately slowing down the process for appeals and corrections. So when you ask, “Why am I not getting my fucking money?”—you’ll be stuck in endless wait times, dead-end phone trees, and paperwork mazes.

And once the system is fully jammed Guess what? They’ll use the dysfunction as proof that Social Security is broken and must be privatized.

The goal isn’t just to strip Social Security—it’s to convince people that its destruction is justified or at least enough MAGA rubes to give him political cover.

Final Step: Wash, Rinse, Repeat.

So my guess is that Musk will start small See what he can get away with then gradually get bigger. By the time Dumb Ass MAGA recipients full grasp the truth it will be too late.

I suppose it is possible, I’m wrong on this I hope so, but it doesn’t feel wrong to me.

Basically I’m convinced Musk is one of the most evil shitbags to walk the face of earth. This is calculated, systemic destruction for profit. The goal isn’t just to strip Social Security—it’s to convince people that its destruction is justified.

I can’t say what I hope happens to him, but let’s just say when he’s on his deathbed, I hope his suffering is beyond imagination.

As for us, I think our only hope is to get loud now. Loud as possible about how and why this is getting done. The only way these tricks don’t work is if we call them out.
