I notice the sky-is-falling inflation crowd at Fox et al don’t have much to say lately… imagine the round the clock coverage of Obama or Biden if they were causing this much chaos. Democratic pols: do better.
My googling shows Fox Business stating “Trump wins first round against inflation” just a week ago. What a joke: evidence, something Republicans ignore when inconvenient, is in this morning showing hot Trumpflation report.
Stocks slip as traders digest latest U.S. inflation report The core personal consumption expenditures price index came out hotter-than-expected, rising 2.8% in February and reflecting a 0.4% increase for the month, increasing concerns about persistent inflation. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been looking for respective numbers of 2.7% and 0.3%. Consumer spending also accelerated 0.4% for the month, below the 0.5% forecast, according to fresh data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Where are the Democratic politicians doing breathless interviews in front of Congress stating Trump is intentionally causing a recession to pay for the upcoming reconciliation economic disaster?
Here’s the real reason Trump wants to create economic chaos — and why investors should be more afraid For better or worse Trump is trying to bring down the dollar through turmoil. If anything, we should talk about the “Mar-A-Lago Discord.” Where will it lead? Place your bet. One of my go-to gurus this week, after begging me “find a way to quote me so that I won’t get murdered in the streets,” said Trump was successfully bringing on a U.S. economic recession both to plunge the dollar and to bring down long-term interest rates. This, he added, was critical to passing his big tax cut bill. The U.S. government cannot afford to finance its massive deficits and enormous national debt at current interest rates. “Trump and the Treasury Secretary want yields down in a recessionary chaotic environment to justify passing their tax plan,” he says. “It does appear that he needs chaos to get his tax plan passed.”
My bold.
Boycott.
