For far too long the American Right has used the term “Un-American” to slander their enemies. But why should we let the Right decide what America ought to stand for? Certainly being American shouldn’t mean being uncivil, unethical, unkind, untruthful, undemocratic, and unhinged — all the values that Donald Trump and his MAGAverse push our country toward more and more.

Progressives and liberals have been working all along to create an America that promotes civility, morality, kindness, faithfulness, truth, democracy, and, well, reality. We need to make it very clear that the values that Donald Trump and his party now promote are the antithesis of what America should stand for. They are Un-American!
