Looks like some worry is setting into the White House about the upcoming special elections because Trump pulled Congresswoman Elise Stefanik’s nomination to be UN Ambassador.

Surely the Republicans were not going to lose that special election in NY? Right?
Former Republican strategist Cheri Jacobus says that Stefanik’s seat is a +20 R district, but for Trump to do this means they actually think that the Democrats could win if there was a special election.

But Trump and his minions are really shitting bricks about Florida’s 6th Congressional District special election.
But in FL-6, GOP nominee Randy Fine has underperformed to the extent that the state and national parties have had to intervene. Public polling shows Fine within the margin of error in the district, which Trump won by 30 points in November.
Private GOP polling is even scarier for Republicans: A recent survey by Tony Fabrizio, who was a chief strategist for Trump in 2024, has Fine with just a three percentage point lead, according to a person familiar with the data.
Will a Democrat win in that district? I don’t know. One thing still against any Democrat in one of those red seats is GOTV operations are lacking and dealing with the negative view that most Americans have right now of Democrats.
Don’t get me wrong. I’d love a win. But I think there has to be a lot more pain inflicted to jolt the American public out of its “Trump will fix things! And Democrats suck!” mood.
But it’s still funny that Trump and the GOP are not as confident as they sound.
As for the other Florida special election, it’s Matt Gaetz’s old seat. The Democrat there has raised a bunch of money, but there are still way too many MAGA voters in that district. I mean those dummies did vote in Matt Gaetz for years.
Anyway, I enjoy the moment.
