The unasked question of the Signal FUBAR [1]

I've spent a lot of time over the last few days watching the hearings where Gabbard and Ratcliffe have lied and evaded any responsibility for the Signal fiasco. I've seen the White House and Hegseth be proven to be liars as they denied that classified information was passed along. I've watched the Dems demand Hegseth's resignation for his incredible stupidity in detailing IN REAL TIME the process of the attack in the Houthi's. A stupidity that apparently lasted for well over three hours according to the time stamps posted. And, I've seen the Republicans do their best to pretend that there is no issue here, despite the fact that the stupidity is so obvious it hurts.
But, through all this, there is one simple question that I haven't seen asked by anyone, WHY DIDN'T ANYONE ON THE CHAT TELL HEGSETH TO SHUT UP! Think about it. There were numerous people on the chat, including Vance, Rubio, Ratcliffe, Walz and Gabbert, all individuals who are responsible for and should be extremely conscious of national security issues. In fact, many of them served on the intelligence committees when serving in the house or senate. They had over three f***ing hours to tell Hegseth to can it.
This is just as big a failure on their part as it is on Hegseth. Why aren't there questions on this? Heck, during the hearings, we have had two flag officers sitting there. Why hasn't one of the Democrats asked them what they would have done if they were in the chat. Would they have said "hey this is inappropriate. We shouldn't be doing this outside a SKIF."
Everyone on this call who is responsible for National Security should resign.
