This ran through the back of my mind last night. [1]

I know this is going to sound crazy, but I had this strange feeling while I was driving home from work last night. It was just after I finished guzzling down my coffee concoction from the gas station, so maybe it was just a result of the caffeine. Who knows. But still, I thought it was worthy enough to go ahead and write a quick diary.

With all of this sh*t going on in the circus ran by the Orange Elephant and the Tesla clown...their criminal firing of thousands of federal employees, the already weakening economy and stock market, the Orange Madman’s inane tariff war with Canada and Mexico, the threats of invasion, the threats against justices, and so on...oh, and now the surprise leak of war plans...and on top of all of this the growing opposition clearly on display at Bernie and AOC’s tours as well as at town halls in deep red districts, I began to think about this.

Republicans in Congress should be deeply troubled by this. I would like to believe that a growing number of them are becoming increasingly concerned about their chances in next year’s midterms.

Which brings me to the main point of my diary.

Right now, I wonder if there is some type of “sinister plot” brewing behind the red curtain between Congressional members of the GOP to “overthrow” their mob boss. It is possible that they are secretly discussing bringing up impeachment for a vote in the House next year just months before the midterms, which will get enough House votes to succeed, and Senate Republicans will also comply. The Senate may very well vote to convict Trump and install JD Vance so that he can have a two-year “head start” at destroying our government (and he probably won’t succeed, either, considering how dumb he is). By doing this, it could give Republicans in Congress a somewhat clever albeit pathetic last-minute chance to save their own asses just in time for November 2026. This way, it will be fresh in the minds of voters immediately before the elections. (I would like to think that it will not work though, at least not for the House.)

They have engaged in similar stunts many times before as sneaky last-ditch efforts to try and win votes, and often times have succeeded. Of course, everyone should remember what happened with Hillary just weeks before the 2016 presidential election (one of the more infamous examples). Another example happened here in Michigan two years earlier in 2014 just before the midterm elections. At the time, a proposal to raise the state’s minimum wage to $10.10 was just about to be put on the ballot after it had collected enough signatures, but just months before the election, the ballot proposal was thwarted by Republicans in the state legislature along with Governor Rick Snyder after they passed and signed a bill to raise the minimum wage to $9.25 (which, unfortunately, was also perpetrated to some degree by Mark Schauer, Democratic candidate for governor that year). Ultimately, this played a significant part in Snyder’s reelection.

Am I saying that this will happen? Definitely not. It was just an eerie feeling that suddenly rushed through me, and I thought it wouldn’t hurt to share it. And, with a growing number of people in this country allegedly turning against the Orange Menace, possibly including a significant chunk of his own base of voters from last year, it certainly is not out of the question.

Another big question is, will the GOP have the guts to finally stand up to their bully boy, or will they continue to be the cowards that they are? We shall see.
