Pete Hegseth Throws Waltz Under The Bus [1]

Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense, soon to be renamed Secretary of War, said today that he was innocent of the scurrilous fiction reported in Atlantic concerning an unsecured chat taking place over the Signal app. In the first place, Hegseth said, he doesn’t know how to use the Signal app. In the second place, Mike Waltz was in charge of the participant list, so he didn’t even know who was involved in the chat. Finally, Hegseth said, he was too drunk to hold his phone at the time.
JD Vance said that the chat was not unsecured. It was end-to-end encrypted and any bad actors would have had to guess that his password was MyPassw0rd.
President Trump continued to ask what all the trouble was about. Republicans continued to deny it was any big business and added, “but her emails.”
