This is a critical juncture for Democratic messaging. the tRump administration’s top security cabinet members choosing to use a third-party un-secure channel to discuss classified information is a big deal; It’s a crime.
Including a journalist on the chat is just icing on the cake.
We can only assume that there are many more such discussion threads on Signal that don’t include a writer for “The Atlantic”.
We should hammer on this day and night. We should demand the resignation of everyone involved. We should demand committee hearings in both chambers of Congress.
We should demand that tRump resign.
Why was Bengazi a 24/7 story? Because the Republicans made it one. Why were Secretary Clinton’s
emails a big deal? Because the Republicans made them one.
Do not take the “We goofed” excuse at face value.
The SCIF servers preserve information. They are there so that when bad actors in the government break the law, we have a record and a paper trail.
Letting this go as more tRump administration buffoonery would be a mistake.
I’m going to contact my Congressperson and see what he’s planning to do.
Senator Schumer could break out his avocado, or some other prop and hold a press conference about this.
