trust
honesty
tolerance
gentleness
joy
defenselessness
generosity
patience
faithfulness
open-mindedness
I don’t find any need for trappings of religion. The coffee/no coffee. The crucifix the no crucifix. The head covering, no head covering. The kosher/non-kosher. Candles/no candles. All these ideas and more, merely separate in the attempt to elevate. They are just trappings.
The difference between telling someone to have a blessed day and silently blessing is choosing war not peace.
Consistently and silently My brother, peace and joy I offer you, That I may have God’s peace and joy as mine.
I used to joke that sometimes I would only give my silent blessing to the back of their head, but it still works — it’s the remembering that is important.
