My Concern with the Recent Push to Force AOC to Run for Senate [1]

I am concerned to see a rising swell of support for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to primary Schumer for his New York Senate seat. This is a bad idea because Schumer will clean her clock in the primary and then where will we be? Yes I know, that’s what they told her when she ran for congress against some 20-term guy but this is not that.
The Senate prides itself on being “The World’s Greatest Deliberative Body” (They have so much to be humble for). This is not the place for a firebrand like AOC. They will crush the fire right out of her, led by whichever lame mediocrity they choose to replace Schumer.
Even if she shows the fire, regardless, I still have the image of Senate leadership railroading Franken’s liberal ass out of there, lead by Wall Street owned Senator Guildebrand, who would be the senior senator to AOC’s junior.
Finally, I also remember that this was the road the Democrats trod to remove Alan Grayson of Florida from Congress. They convinced him to primary for the Senate, but he had to forgo running for re-election in the House. During the primary, Harry Reid came out to announce he did not want Grayson in the Senate. I believe he came in third and was unable to get back in. I see this as a replay.
Ultimately, this is AOC’s choice and I wish her continued input into our politics. But for the above reasons, I think the big push is ill-timed and, frankly, a suicide mission which will silence her voice.
