Letter to Denmark and Canada [and The Rest Of NATO, If You're Reading] [1]

Hi Denmark. Hello, Canada.
No, the USA does not want to attack you and steal your stuff. Far and away most of us don’t.
The problem is that right now, our country is being run by two demented, borderline psychotic, narcissistic sociopaths who have never been told “no” in their entire lives. THEY want to do this, probably because they or some other narcissistic sociopath chum of theirs would like something you have, like natural resources.
[A pretty easy way to tell who is a narcissistic sociopath in the USA is by how much money and power they have, and how much they want to take yours away from you.]
We have a little problem over here, and it’s your problem too now. But there may be something perfectly legal and peaceable that could help address it. Bear with me, I have to explain some things.
How We Got Here
Narcissistic sociopaths in our country have a lot of appeal to little narcissistic sociopath wannabees, and unfortunately we seem to have a lot of those over here. Since we gave our businesses permission to offshore all our factories and destroy our working class 40+ years ago, little narcissistic sociopaths are about the only thing we actually manufacture here now. But we are GOOD at it.
Plus, we have a wide network of right wing hate generators that our Democratic party just ignores, things called I Heart Radio and Sinclair Broadcasting, with Fox News on the TV. And we’re a nation of non-readers, so people here watch too much TV and listen to the radio at work, and they get bombarded all day every day by hate hate hate.
And constant hate hate hate will turn almost anyone into a narcissistic sociopath to some extent. You can even see it turning people’s minds inside out on the Left, over here, it’s gone on so long.
So we have a lot of home grown haters, mostly right wingers who like Trump because his entire platform is hate hate hate, and last year we had just enough of them in our country to put him back in office.
Worse than that, though, a lot of our good guys have such a morbid fear of getting their hands dirty that they can’t seem to get the idea that when you have a criminal for President, you need to stop treating him like a President, and start treating him like a criminal.
Let me repeat that just in case a few of our good guys are reading this and it might sink in.

The Crux of Our Problem
Many of our good guys still think that all we have to do is be virtuous and pure, and we will somehow infect the whole world with our goodness. Unfortunately, although there is a lot to be said for soft power, right now the infectious thing is the hate hate hate. And this subset of our good guys just refuse to believe this or deal with it.
Meanwhile, the hate hate hate is the thing most widely broadcast here. Far fewer people ever hear about any of the good stuff. Again, many of our good guys just ignore that problem, they seem to think that somehow everybody knows about their good deeds by some mystical awareness.
Well, that didn’t work, did it?
So here we are on our side of the Atlantic, watching a demented sociopathic Mob Boss and his Consigliere take over the White House, install even more mobsters in what used to be our Cabinet, and assert Mob Rule over our entire Civil Service, while treating government agencies like bust-out joints.
And our good guys are STILL assuring us that this will all get fixed in the next election. Yes, that is kind of dumb, isn’t it? It was all supposed to get fixed in THIS PAST election, too. And in 2015. And every previous election. Yet, strangely, here we are, so that, too, doesn’t seem to work very well.
You Saw Through This, Thank Goodness
Fortunately for you, and for the sane though currently somewhat disempowered people over here, it appears that the rest of you NATO members did some planning for this. I am glad you all weren’t as giddily deluded as some of our good guys were, and didn’t buy the idea that enough people in the USA had finally figured out that mobsters are not good Presidents.
Here Is A Way You Might Help
Now, I know I don’t have any standing to ask, or even suggest, but I’m going to put this out there anyway. This isn’t an appeal to altruism, but to enlightened self-interest. Realpolitik, I suppose.
You guys might want to consider doing some counter-programming aimed at us, since we seem unable to figure that out on a large scale. Like we were doing all through the Cold War and up until our Narcissistic Sociopathic Duarchy shut it down.
Obviously the best outcome for all of us is if we in the USA get off the “hate hate hate” thing, manage to return to what passes over here for sanity, and maybe even start to work on what passes in your countries for basic civilization. We have more independent journalists every day trying to do this, on places like YouTube and Substack — but those are vulnerable, to some degree. So we might benefit from a little help.
It might help us a lot if we could tune in to “Voice of Europe” or “Radio Free America” like people in Iron Curtain countries used to tune in to Radio Free Europe and Voice of America. We need someone beaming “sanity sanity sanity” at us 24 hours a day to counteract our homegrown “hate hate hate”. Ironically, a lot of that sanity could come from rebroadcasting speeches by FDR and MLK, JFK and RFK, with credible historical commentary.
Believe me, Denmark, trust me, Canada, our good guys are starting to do this, but we would greatly benefit from more players in the game, with transmitters that are a little harder to unplug, if you see what I mean.
It’s an idea. Think about it, mull it over.
Encouraging Words, Since Words Are All I Have Right Now
In the meantime, rest assured, most of us in the USA do NOT support the Duarchy of Dummkopfen trying to bully you and steal your stuff. That belongs to the Trump Mob. And if by some miracle the sane nations of the world have a few more peaceable tricks to stop the Trump Mob, well, the narcissistic sociopaths might be vulnerable to something we call “asset confiscation” over here. Pertaining to their assets over there. Just as a little hint.
A lot of us over here will be cheering you on, if you find the right economic and legal levers to make these bullies think twice. Looks like you, Canada, are off to a brilliant start with that; keep it up, keep it up, nice work with those elbows!
Hopefully we can confine the hostilities to the economic sphere, because our own oligarch wannabees aren’t all as stupid as the Duarchy, and when enough of them feel threatened some things may shake loose. We also have a lot of what you call OAPs, Old Age Pensioners; retirees drawing from a government managed national pension program that they funded during their working years. When the Duarchy goes after that [and they very clearly want to], there may be a bit of hellraising, and it just might come from the 30-to-50 crowd who don’t want Mom or Grandma moving into their spare rooms. So some hope remains, and with the surge in protests at political town halls here, there’s more hope daily.
Think about it, would you? We already have the Guardian and the Independent and bits of the BBC, some of us listen to or watch the ABC and CBC, but we don’t have a steady voice telling us there’s something better than hate, there’s a better way to live than as peasants constantly encouraged to be at one another’s throats.
Maybe, even, if we get through this, we could start some foreign exchange programs, so you and other decent NATO countries can teach more of our good guys how to actually BE good guys, beyond just talking about it.
Author’s Note: I drafted this diary on January 26, 2025, but decided that “Radio Free America” and “Voice of Europe” were too farfetched… well, not anymore they aren’t. So here is my contribution to that idea, revised and updated to reflect current circumstances.
