Chuck Schumer Must Resign [1]

Today, we are seeing threats to end the republic as we know it from DOGE and the Republican party, as they try to destroy the government as it existed before. When Minority Leader Chuck Schumer voted for cloture, with no concessions and no fight, he showed that he is at best, not up to the moment we find ourselves in, and at worst, an active collaborator with MAGA. It may just be that he felt lining his pockets on his book tour was more important than fighting to protect our republic.
Schumer offered weak excuses that a government shutdown would somehow benefit Republicans, but this is obviously absurd. If this was true, the Republican party would be pushing for a shutdown, not rushing to push through a continuing resolution. The Republican Party wanted something, and needed the Democrats’ help to get it. Federal Workers were even largely in support of the shutdown, despite the fact it would impact them the most. In this political moment, our politicians need the will, the spirit, and the integrity, to use their power and their leverage to extract concessions, and Chuck Schumer has demonstrated that he is happy to fold to MAGA, with no concessions, and no pressure.
The Democratic Party cannot afford to keep him as the leader in the senate. Our republic cannot afford it either. Democratic senators and constituents must stand up, stand together, and demand his resignation, so that someone with the courage to stand up for the constitutional rule of law may take that place.
Contact your senators to demand that they make statements in public calling for Schumer’s resignation from the Minority Leader position, and to apply pressure in private to do the same. Now is a moment for our senators to fight for the preservation of our republic and our democracy, and We The People must demand that our elected representatives fight for us.
