Trump would accept associate membership in Commonwealth of Nations [1]

After issuing an executive order declaring English the official language of the USA, Trump is now entertaining the possibility of the US joining the UK-led Commonwealth of Nations.
The Commonwealth is a bloc of 56 countries, of which, the vast majority were former British colonies.

Apparently, King Charles is going to make a “special offer” to Trump to join the group as an associate member during his upcoming state visit to the UK. However, no date for that visit has been scheduled yet.
Donald Trump has suggested he would be happy for the US to become an “associate member” of the Commonwealth, if King Charles were to make the offer. The US president on Friday posted a news story from The Sun that referred to a supposed “secret offer” the British monarch is due to extend during Trump’s planned state visit to the UK. He added: “I Love King Charles. Sounds good to me!” Britain’s Labour government has sought to deploy the royal family as a means of smoothing relations with Trump, who has long expressed his admiration for them.
The British hope that associating the US within its Commonwealth, may reduce political tensions between Trump and the Canadian government after his threats to invade and annex our neighbors to the north.
The Sun news story followed a Daily Mail article that said that plans were “allegedly in the works to make the USA the next ‘associate member’ of the Commonwealth”, adding that the idea was being discussed “at the highest levels”. The article added that including the US in the Commonwealth “may dampen the current conflict” with Canada.
The British Commonwealth includes several countries along our eastern seaboard and other neighbors on the mainland of the Americas bordering or islands in the Caribbean Sea. Joining the Commonwealth could also help Trump tap into another migrant labor force to replace the immigrant workers lost through his mass deportation scheme. However, joining the Commonwealth would likely require treaty-level approval in the Senate , but Trump has been bypassing them and issuing Executive Orders like Kleenex at an upcoming memorial for our democracy. Nevertheless, this royal charm offensive has one purpose — mitigate the global harm of the Trump regime over the next four years.
