Pirate's Booty founder declares himself mayor, tries to take over a NY village [1]

According to NBC News, the founder of Pirate’s Booty Snacks tried to take over and dissolve the town government of Sea Cliff, NY after losing a town election.

Robert Erlich wrote himself in as a candidate in the mayoral race. When defeated handily by the incumbent Elena Villafane, he came up with a statement proclaiming himself the “real” mayor and demanding that the entire village staff be fired.

Erlich admitted that some of his supporters voted multiple times….while simultaneously claiming the election was rigged. Now where have I heard that before…?
