The Greatest, Muhammad Ali once mused , “…this might shock and amaze ya…” before going on to rhyme something about his Heavyweight rival Joe Frazier. I’ve been watching the coverage of Individual 1, Cheetolini, Twitler, The Huckster and Chief , Boldfinger, Benedict Donald …( I could go on forever. but then I’d never get to the good stuff)… the White House squatter himself, President Donald Jackass Trump. Wait… what??…. the “J” stands for John!? Are you sure? That can’t be right. Anyway the media has spent the better part of Trump Part Deax trying to shock and amaze ya with its coverage of Trump. They barely covered his ineptitude in the job of POTUS in Trump 1.0. Trump’s misogyny, racism, mendacity, and his cruelty among other things are never discussed as the bugs that they are, but more like features that we should accept in the same way that Tesla owners accept poor build quality, electrical glitches, bad paint, and poor cold weather performance. Yes we should accept these things as normal in the same way a ketamine fueled Elon Musk Nazi salute is just a friendly wave. Gutting the federal work force is normal, and the protections they provide is the sensible thing to do akin to removing the guardrails on an icy mountain road as a way of saving steel from fraud and abuse. Convincing the people to accept the unacceptable is a crucial part of the authoritarian gameplan. Just for a moment think about what this new Amerikka asks you to accept. The media doesn’t challenge mass deportation. The media doesn’t challenge unelected officials , who named themselves after a meme coin, having access to our private data. Mind you, that data will undoubtedly be used for some future nefarious purpose. The media didn’t even question the results of the election that saw statistical improbabilities ( all seven swing states, popular vote, and straight blue votes for the ticket except for POTUS? C’mon man). No, I’m not a conspiracy theorist. I just wonder why when Orange Julius said aloud that his benefactor Elon musk spent time in the must win swing state of Pennsylvania, and possibly interfered in our election, no serious questions were asked. Democracies cannot function without freedom of the press. They certainly won’t function under oligarch captured media.
Billionaires have castrated mainstream media. Former newspaper giants like the New York Times and the Washington Post are merely bloated eunuchs , no longer capable of a bass note warning of the fascist intent of Dick-tator Donald, and Pinocchio Musk. Why Pinocchio? He lies and he wants to be a real boy. C’mon keep up. Naturally in a 24 hour news cycle trump’s reality show shenigans keep our ever shorter attention spans titillated. They cause us to click on to our favorite web news sources, especially those of us that don’t support the Wannabe Mad King. It allows those of us who voted for sanity and Democracy to scream, I told you! The sane half of the country has spent each day hoping that the end of the nightmare is nigh. There are a plethora of brief articles detailing the Tangerine toddler’s latest idiocy. There are cable news media stories revealing the calamitous mistake the country has made. We laugh at this man the way the rest of the world does. These occasional chuckles at the buffoonery provide us with a little psychological, mastabatory relief. It’s not the toe curling, speaking in tongues relief, that would result from news of Trump’s resignation. The news media’s daily tugs and rubs only serve to make us numb to the real screwing that is happening to the country. While we have been shocked and amazed, Trump has packed the Federal Courts with 89 judges essentially allowing the GOP to hijack a third branch of government. He’s in prime position to appoint Samuel Alito, and Clarence Thomas’ replacements with younger more twisted SCOTUS justices. How does Justice Aileen Cannon sound to you? Oops, sorry. Could someone fetch the smelling salts? Critical vacancies exist in every branch of the government. These vacancies are being filled with yes men whose only purpose it seems is to further degrade the guardrails of government that were put in place to keep the Republic viable. Judges, whose fealty is to Trump not the constitution are the authoritarian default code. Trump’s rogues gallery of cabinet nominations, a group that could easily be terrorizing Batman and Gotham City, are designed to create chaos and dismantle government. Cersei Lannister….um Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Justice department works for Trump not the people of the United States. The Department of Homeland Security, the Department of the Interior, The EPA, Hud, Health and Human Services and others are all being run with the efficiency of Trump Air, Trump Wine, Trump Steaks, Trump University, and Trump Casinos. These important government agencies are headed by the opposite of DEI. A DEI hire would have placed the most capable person from the largest possible pool of candidates in charge. Instead these agencies are headed by GTFOH hires. Our Defense department is run by a drunken frat boy that would make Old School’s Frank the Tank proud. We have Russian asset, and dalmation puppy scaring Cruella… Tulsi Gabbard guarding our homeland. Everyday there’s another jenga block pulled from what used to be the bedrock Democratic Republic foundation of the United States. We’ve crossed the rubicon, but as the oligarch captured Washingtonius Posticus of 49 B.C.E would’ve have said, “ Caesar spends day freshening up by the river before returning for meeting with senate.”
The biggest danger from 2.0 is that life still feels a little too normal. Our govenment is being systemically gutted. Our neighbors are being rounded up by ICE, while we fill out our March madness brackets. In many ways these rapid drastic changes to the country are barely noticed by the electorate. We are so far from normal that we will never get back to what we once considered normal. We are Odysseus trying to return home to a reality that sadly no longer exists. As the days pass and the first social security checks are missed, or crucial government services disappear, more pockets of people will notice the monster that has been unleashed. As this is happening the hapless Democrats believe that they can somehow recapture the congress . They assume that there will be a 2026 election. Meanwhile the right has launched an attack that they hope will fully capture America in a way that will not be reversible without major bloodshed. America is the frog in the slowly warming pot. The GOP has abdicated its congressional responsibility to govern as a co-equal branch of government. They’re fully aware that when you elect a clown, then a circus is sure to follow. Rather than reign in Trumpy The Clown’s hijinks, they have all contorted themselves to fit inside of the clown’s car. The Democrats ,with very few exceptions, have acted like the A student that avoids any hint of misbehavior when the teacher isn’t present. They calmly sit with their hands folded neatly on their desks, awaiting instruction after the clowns have set fire to the classroom. Rather than acknowledge that the room is on fire, they sit quietly in the flames waiting to be told what to do. Damn you all. Didn’t you gameplan the possibility of a Trump win? Was there no one who, after having read the Project 2025 handbook could’ve devised countermeasures? I keep checking the back of my milk carton in hopes of seeing a picture of Hakeem Jeffries. At least that would explain why we haven’t heard from him in a meaningful way. I’m guessing that Chuck Schumer is anxiously awaiting his balls transplant surgery. I wish that someone would tell him that you can be heard without them as AOC and Jasmine Crockett demonstrate on a daily basis. Perhaps we haven’t heard from the Democratic leadership because they have been captured by AIPAC and the Israeli lobby. Open Secrets paints a damning picture of the Democratic leaders donar list. Without going too far into the weeds, ask yourself how the Israeli government benefits from a Trump presidency. While your having this self interrogation, ask how America’s oligarchs benefit, and then finally how does Putin benefit? Then you might start to see how the three triangulate to put us in the untenable situation that we currently find ourselves in.
So what do we do? We should already be in the streets. By we, I mean White people. Yes you heard correctly. Black people marching for our rights would give Mango Mussolini the pretext to declare martial law. It’s not on us this time. We voted for Kamala at a rate of over 80%. We have carried the Democratic vote since 1965. In fact, no Democratic nominee has garnered the majority of the White vote since the passage of the Voting Rights act. Essentially this shit show is on White People. You chose incompetence over competence. You chose chaos over calm. You chose kleptocracy over fighting for a better Democracy. Clearly you thought that orange was the new Black. It’s not! Collectively we all need to use our economic power to wage war against the oligarchs waging war against us. Why are you still on Facebook? Instagram? Are you still shopping at Home Depot? I love Amazon, but I can buy my cheap Chinese made goods eleswhere. Walmart? Nope. Mind you, there will times when it isn’t practical to avoid these places. I’m just suggesting that when you can choose to shop judiciously then you should. Download “Goods Unite Us” and shop with those that are not actively trying to destroy you. You must be out of your ever loving mind to buy a Tesla. I understand that even if Musk was down to his last billion, he would still be a billionaire. I still want to see him down to his last billion. The America that we knew is gone. The MAGA right will insure that. The billionaire class will pick everything they can from America’s carcass. It’s what vultures do. The challenge will be to rebuild this thing again. Maybe its impossible to rebuild. Perhaps we’re too large and the divisions are too great. Some have said that we should be like the European Union. A common currency, defense, commerce , but also with seperate leadership for the individual member states. Just spitballing as I know that no election is going to repair the Trump MAGA damage.
I’ve often said on my podcast Powell To The People Rebel Base 1 that Trump is like a magician. He distracts you with his left hand while he pulls the card from his sleeve with his right hand. Unfortunately in this magic show the media has been fooled by Trump’s misdirection. They pay rapt attention to the foolishness of the left hand while missing the blood that’s pooling under the box of the woman that he actually sawed in half. Which woman? Pick one. Lady Liberty, Lady Justice, Mother Nature? E. Jean Carrol? How about your wives, and daughters who will confront a just back from vacation, fully rested , and refreshed misogyny that has been given a new lease under this administration? The point is don’t get caught up watching Trump’s daily reality show. Yes his actions are hurting people in real time. As Dr. John Gartner of Duty to Warn has said , Trump is a malignant narcissist. Causing pain and suffering is not a bug for a malignant narcissist, its a feature. Remember this man said that “I am your retribution”. We need to pay rapt attention to the nation’s treasury. we need to hold on to every receipt. We must actively engage in every possible act of defiance. We must reengage our neighbors . Try to find common ground if you can. Coke drinkers are going to drink Coke and Pepsi drinkers are going to drink Pepsi. That’s not the fight. The fight is working man VS the oligarch. The oligarchs have knocked us down and the ten count has already begun. The measure of anyone isn’t that they get knocked down, it’s that they get back up. Ali was knocked down in the fight of the century by Smokin Joe Frazier. He regained the heavyweight title in Zaire against an opponent that was considered unbeatable. George Foreman had destroyed the aforementioned Joe Frazier to take the crown. Ali knocked out Foreman to regain his title ten years after he had won it the first time. what’s the point? Victory is not assured. Victory is not given. Victory is won. Victory has to to be fought for no the matter the odds. It is time. Cue the Rocky music and training montage. Resistance is not futile. It is essential. We can be the greatest. Take the country back. Let’s rope this dope. Yup, I thought that might shock and amaze ya.
