The Worm Turns: RFK jr Wants to Control Bird Flu by Letting it Spread [1]

As farms in the United States face cases of avian flu, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy has offered an idea to fight the virus — let it spread.
Instead of letting farmers cull the birds when the infection is discovered, Kennedy recently suggested on Fox News that farmers “should consider maybe the possibility of letting it run through the flock so that we can identify the birds, and preserve the birds, that are immune to it,” according to the New York Times.
Since January 2022, more than 1,600 virus outbreaks have been reported on farms and backyard flocks. These outbreaks are occurring in every state and more than 166 million birds have been affected, according to the Times.
Every infection gives the virus, called H5N1, the chance to evolve into a more severe form, the Times reported.
