Anyway, Tuesdays are usually our government shutdown reminder days, but we’ve reset the clock on that particular issue, for the moment.
I’m beginning to wonder whether more of the truly crazy stuff will be happening during the weekdays this time around, especially as they run out of plausible subjects for Executive Orders for Trump to sign. They’re clearly scraping the bottom of the barrel now, and I assume they’re just going to get worse and worse.
197 days until the “legal” funding for what’s left of the US government runs out… again!
1,404 days remaining in Trump’s legal term of office
595 days until the midterm elections, if we have them
656 days—if we have those elections—until we seat a new Congress
The Invasion Bingo random country generator says today’s an unlucky day for: Hungary!
Wow! Well, few countries are less likely to be invaded in anger by the US, at this point. Would it count if we were invited to march through Budapest as part of a military parade? Trump thinks twisting arms at the US Army Corps of Engineers in California counted as a military invasion. And he thinks immigration is an invasion, too. Hell, he thinks everything is an invasion!
We’ve really got to come up with some rules for this thing. But I hope we never need ‘em.
