Trump was just being sarcastic about ending the Ukraine war in 24 hours [1]

Daily Kos staff writer Oliver Willis had a different take on the interview.
Trump still says we have spent $350 billion on Ukraine. How can you trust a man who makes up numbers out of thin air?
Sharyl: I'm not understanding the complexity of all of this, but as a candidate, you said you would have this war settled in 24 hours?
Trump: Well, I was being a little sarcastic when I said that, what I really mean is that I'd like to get it settled and I think I'll be successful.
In March of 2023, Trump said he'd have the war solved in 24 hours for the first time in an interview with Sean Hannity.
"If it's not solved , I will have it solved in 24 hours with Zelensky and with Putin. There's a very easy negotiation to take place but I don't want to tell you what it is, because then I can't use that negotiation; it'll never work. But it's a very easy negotiation to take place. I will have it solved in one day, a peace between them. Now that's a year and a half. That's a long time. I can't imagine something not happening."
That doesn't sound like he's being sarcastic at all. He's trying to rewrite history to make his current failure of success.
Hannity: So you'd prefer if you were president, you think you would have a negotiated settlement?
Trump: Within 24 hours.
The only thing Trump said in the interview with Sharyl Attkisson about Ukraine was the one section above. Trump did say he wanted the war to end and how he always got along with Putin well. But that was it about ending the war in 24 hours or all.
Each time he talked about 24 hours between Sean Hannity' interview and this one, he was never sarcastic. He was dead serious about it. This is his new excuse to try and change history. The other cover was an advisor saying it would take 100 days for the war to be resolved.
Trump covered other topics in the interview, but it was no different than one of his rally speeches. Trump always criticized Biden's interviews, when he had them, but Trump's interviews, while speaking faster and longer than Biden, are worthless for content.
The only entertainment in Sharyl's interview was at the very end.
Sharyl: Do you put ketchup on your steak?
Trump: Yes, I do.
Shayrl: Is your drivers license expired?
Trump: I'll have to check.
Sharyl: Okay.
Trump: I'm not allowed to drive. If you can believe it's, a great, I love driving. I miss it.
Sharyl: Because you're president? For security reasons?
Trump: No, I miss it. I miss not driving.
