OHIO DEMOCRATS: Are you fed up with the State party’s do-nothing stance? [1]

I certainly am. I receive two or three requests for money per week from our State Party, but respond something like this:

DearOhio Democratic Party:

All I ever see from you are requests for money. Why don’t I ever see something that shows that you’re fighting for Ohio citizens and how you do it?

I’m not a major donor; I don’t have the means to be. But the times I have given you money, I’ve felt I just flushed it down the toilet. I never see any positive results.

So, if you want money from me, I want to see you do these things:

Have every county party chair hold town halls every year or better, six months, by contacting every Democrat in their area so they can tell us what the Party is actually doing with our money and to solicit ideas from attendees. Urge citizens to bring relatives and friends.

Examine the ideas proposed, adopt the ones that make sense and then set up a plan that will: Create campaigns for every seat in the State Government, Legislature and Congressional districts; Help find and support electable candidates for every position; Get out from behind your desks and every time the Republicans in the Legislature, State or County governments hold a press opportunity, make sure some Democrat office holder is right there to buttonhole the media and present the reasons the Republicans are wrong and how Democrats would help instead. And make sure national media receives video. Right now, I’d suggest Meidas Touch. Don’t rely solely on legacy media. It’s inexpensive to send out releases frequently that tell readers what the state’s Democrats are doing to make the readers’ lives better and easier. Be on every blog or website you can find to make your points strongly and effectively.

Tell Ohioans how they’ve been ripped off by Republicans and how Democrats will make their lives better.

Tell Democrats how you’re using our donations. We’ll be more apt to contribute if we see positive, constructive action from the party.

Right now, the Ohio Democrats remind me of the Minions: they bumble around and achieve nothing. Let’s see if we can’t change that.
