Yeah, I’m alarmed too. The verbal diarrhea coming out of Tangerine Palpatine’s mouth lately? Not normal. But if anyone else spewed this nonsense, we’d be laughing them off the national stage.
But because it’s coming from the president of the United States (and someone the MSM insists on taking seriously), it gets treated like actual political discourse. Which is bananas. The man could say, “The moon is made of baby back ribs, and I’m building a wall around it,” and the MSM wouldn’t question it at all.
Look, I’m not saying we ignore the threats—he’s shown he’s willing to take his absurdity all the way to reality. But we can still recognize absurdity for what it is: Hilarious. Ridiculous. Completely stupid.
As many have pointed out before, here’s the truth: The best way to strip power from a wannabe dictator is to mock them. Laugh at them. Make them the punchline. Authoritarians crave fear and respect—take that away, and you take their power with it.
Worried about what he’s saying? Good. But also… laugh at it. Try to get others to laugh at it. Because when a grown man throws a tantrum about overturning his much better predecessor’s pardons, it’s not just scary—it’s laugh-out-loud ridiculous because he shows how little he understands about reality and his job.
The more seriously we treat his nonsense, the more worried and depressed we get. It also legitimizes his bullshit. But if we laugh in his face? We remind the world that we have the power to make him inconsequential.
Yes, we must stay alert. But laugh at the idiot. Laughter, mockery, and satire are the sharpest weapons we have right now.
