Is Chuck Schumer our Winston Churchill? [1]

I’m asking each and every one of you to contact as many Democratic senators as you possibly can and let them know that they need to stand for a new senate minority leader. The reasons are clear. This isn’t about whether it’s ‘fair’ to Schumer, or about the fact that Republicans are a thousand times worse, or about the fact that Schumer was in a bad position.

It’s about the fact that in the darkest hour of our country, when democracy is most threatened, we need a fighter against fascism like the UK had in World War II in Winston Churchill, not someone who can’t even face protesters at a book tour, let alone Trump and fascism (side note: I’m keenly aware of Churchill’s many other deficiencies. This is an analogy). The UK replaced Neville Chamberlain because defeating fascism was too important to accept any leadership other than the fiercest and boldest.

And that’s what I recommend you ask your senators or their aides: is Chuck Schumer our Winston Churchill? If so, keep him around. But we all know that he isn’t.
