DOGE invades U.S. Institute of Peace [1]

After being turned away on Friday:

On the afternoon of Friday, March 14, 2025, several members of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), arrived at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) unannounced accompanied by two FBI agents. They were met at the door by the Institute’s outside counsel who informed them of USIP’s private and independent status as a non-executive branch agency. Following that discussion, the DOGE representatives departed.

DOGE returned today, and got in. There are rumors they came back this time with armed goons.

Employees of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency have entered the U.S. Institute of Peace despite protests from the nonprofit that it is not part of the executive branch and is instead an independent agency. The organization’s CEO, George Moose, said, “DOGE has broken into our building.”

This little known agency is yet another that I’m sure bad actors (including Putin and Xi) would like off the world stage. It seems there is no limit to what DOGE can disrupt if they (Musk) decides to.
