UPDATE: In the spirit of fairness to those considering investing the time in this, this documentary was recommended by a PhD studying at Berkley, Professor Jeremy Sherman. It is a vetted award winning documentary and a well studied topic amongst sociologists.
I have seen a lot of stories, a couple by Kos himself and other DKOS’rs pondering why those on the right think and act the way they do. It’s super frustrating because of the lack of self reflection of people on the left is partly to blame.
A good place to start is with this documentary.
I have many other resources, but I’ll be brief because I’m exhausted today. I won’t respond to comments that aren’t sincere questions, or accusatory, or snarky, I’m just too tired for that now. You either want to try and really understand or you don’t.
If there is enough curiosity and a willingness for people on the left to look at themselves and how we ALL were affected by this, then I’ll share more resources.
If you watch this and think (or comment) “Oh that’s why people on the right are so messed up” or you feel as though this is a personal attack on you, then you’ve proven the point of the documentary.
It’s a painful process but rather then pointing fingers at the Democrats in power, or everybody that voted for Trump, look into yourself first and be honest, where has this brain washing affected us on the left? When you understand what drives you, it will help you understand what drives those on the right.
I just hope we aren’t too late.
